"1.From the jaws of hideous monsters

From the very gates of hell

Before their voices get silenced forever”

   Please bring back our girls

2.From the grips of dark warlords

Whose hearts have for long been lost

Dark spirits that upon our land have declared a war

   Please bring back our girls

3.We don’t even know

   If they’re being killed daily

   If they’re being raped daily

Whatever is going on there our plea remain

That you please bring back our girls

4.Our homes in Chibok are missing them

Their siblings want to hold them again

The mosques where they prayed wants to welcome them back

Their churches want to do a thanksgiving

Just please bring back our girls

5.Now is not the time

To be parading ourselves as giants

If Nigeria alone cannot win this war

Please seek help wherever it can be found

We don’t really care how it’s gotten

But victory,at whatever cost,is our desire

For our cracked lips of clay to again blossom with smiles

   Please bring back our girls

6.At this sore moment

   Campaigns are meaningless to us

We want to feel secured again

   In our homeland,at our yards

We want to see the chains of terror destroyed

We want to be drowned by sanity

We want serenity wherever we turn

Such that if a pin should drop, its impact will echoe through our land

In pains humbly we again ask

That you please bring back our girls

7.Time is ticking

   Souls from Sambisa are praying

   Chibok is on its toes

   Nigeria is waiting

   When we wake up tomorrow

The news we want is that of victory

For you,our military, please summon more courage

Our hearts are with you,our spirits are not sleeping

Our classrooms in Chibok are awaiting our angels

   Please bring back our girls,safely!

“People of African descent have been tyrannized for centuries by a Eurocentric aesthetic that deems light skin and straight hair beautiful and that casts dark skin, African features and kinky hair as undesirable, if not ugly. This bias is less potent than it was, say, 50 years ago. (Movies, advertisements and prime-time television clearly show that.) But it still weighs heavily in judgments about what is beautiful  and what is not; it also limits the opportunities of people whose appearances place them far from the Eurocentric ideal.
This might seem an esoteric issue, but it lies at the heart of the emotionally charged dispute that started earlier this spring, when the Army updated its hairstyle regulations.
The Army issued the new rules for an innocent enough reason — to bolster what it viewed as lax grooming standards. But it touched a historical third rail when it used the term “unkempt” in the rules, which banned some hairstyles popular with African-American servicewomen, including dreadlocks, twists and large cornrows. At the very least, the rules seemed to imply that the Army preferred chemically straightened hair for black women – meaning that the hair of white women would be viewed as the standard for acceptability.”
"Chuck Hagel [has] ordered the military to review policies relating to the hairstyle question. … He and his colleagues at the Pentagon should also know that they have blundered into one of the more explosive topics in the annals of race in The United States.”
